Today I have my six-week postpartum check-up with my OB. I have been dreading it (please, no more pelvic exams), but it will be nice to see my doctor again and hear that it’s safe to go back in the water. (Come on, do we really have to wait six weeks to go swimming?)
Here’s a list of topics one might expect to cover at such a check-up.

Swimming. That’s funny. My answer is no.
It’s funny to talk about other mom’s about how many times they went swimming before they got checked out… or how few times they went before getting checked out. Everyone is different.
Glad you can finally (officially) get in and enjoy it.
ha!
So true! What was I doing? August and no swimming??
Good luck today! I cried throughout my appointment and could hardly get a word out! 🙂 Oh, also, I was back swimming at masters after 4 weeks! I didn’t even know that we weren’t supposed to swim?! I just jumped in when I felt ready. Can’t wait for your visit!
Poor thing! And yet you were back in the pool at 4 weeks… wow!
Can’t believe we’re going to be visiting so soon–looking forward to it!
Mine’s today too! Excited to get a thumbs up on all life postpartum. Six weeks once sounded so short, but now I feel like it’s been forever since I last saw her.
So true! I actually got a little giddy when I saw mine and waved across the waiting room. Which surprised even me, because minutes earlier I had an exhausted meltdown and suddenly I was waving in a waiting room!?
mine was a few days ago! and i gotta say, it wasn’t bad at all! nor was the OTHER thing you can do at 6 weeks (you can always count on me for the TMI).
You are hilarious! And daring…
I have a good friend who went for her 6-week exam for her second child… and found out at that appointment she was pregnant with kid no. 3!! Can you imagine?!
No! That would be insane! They would have to bring in the smelling salts and scoop me off the floor.
