When talk of a bouncer arose, Aron was at first dead-set on the very sleek Coco Stylewood Baby Lounger from bloom (after all, when you’re bringing furniture into a studio apartment, you better like how it looks). I have to admit, it’s pretty lovely! But that bentwood construction comes at a steep price. A less luxe, but chic, affordable alternative we spotted is the Maclaren Vida Bouncer
–especially in charcoal.

We have the coco lounger and it is quite beautiful. The only issue is that there isn’t much for the baby to “do”.. compared to all those crazy bright colored plastic loungers etc. So our solution was to pair it with this play gym from Ikea.

It actually fits over it perfectly and looks great. We also bought a sheep skin rug from Ikea and paired that with the gym for a floor place space.

xo.
That sounds awesome! I bet it looks great–do you have any shedding with the Ikea sheepskin? They seem so nicely sized.
i agree, you definitely need some toys for the chair, neither are going to be useful unless there is some sort of stimulation. i ended up buying the fisher price how now brown cow and he loves it even though i cant stand the sight of it in our small condo.

i am sure you have seen this one. but these are what we got for the boys. they are good (and don’t look that bad, and have a wooden toy attachment), they loved them and eventually they learn to kick their feet and rock themselves.
We had the Bjorn bouncer which was great when our daughter was a little older. She LOVED the Fisher Price vibrating bouncer the first 3 months of her life. It was ugly; but, gave us a little peace!
Actually, we have a friend who might lend us a babysitter balance–which I agree, is also nicely simple/stylish. Good to know about the toy attachment!
I love that gray bouncer! My husband and I were very concerned with colors when getting baby stuff–it’s like adding furniture to your house! We ended up with the MacLaren 2-in-one bouncer/chair (http://www.amazon.com/Maclaren-Rocker-Chair-Black-Champagne/dp/B001LF3W6C/ref=dp_cp_ob_ba_title_3). For awhile it came in gray and orange. I recommend it, however, because you can adjust the recline of the chair and it has little legs that go down to keep it from rocking. That way, you can feed the baby in the chair for many months, and it great when they are eating solids but still not sitting up on their own. And it comes with a toy bar that provides loads of entertainment.
Thanks for the suggestion, Whitney!
