Aron and I have read that the baby can hear now and we’ve been thinking about the noises he might be getting acclimated to (sirens, dogs barking, taxis honking… our voices), and are thinking that this should be one tolerant little kid! We also may have starting singing a favorite song occasionally–I wonder if the baby might recognize it later. (No matter: even if he doesn’t remember, these are moments I’ll never forget.)

He’s also apparently around the size of an eggplant, with the heft of a pineapple (or a head of cauliflower, depending on whom you ask), and is starting to blink. I’ve been feeling for the rhythmic movement of hiccups–also apparently common about now–but so far he seems pretty content with soccer kicks and elbow jabs. Or maybe he’s dancing?

I’ve heard friends talk about their babies being able to hear sounds – so cute about singing the favourite songs!

Thanks, Will! I love seeing Aron sing to my stomach! 🙂

I’ll say they can hear sounds! Be careful about kitchen appliance noises, your baby is just about at counter level. Once when 6 months pregnant, I turned on the blender and so startled my baby that it felt as though she was going to jump out of my skin!
