Where Children Sleep

As we start to carve out a space in our apartment for the baby, I’ve been thinking again about this beautiful and provocative book, Where Children Sleep by James Mollison. It is written for all ages, and the photos highlight social inequalities as well as cultural differences. I think it could be a wonderful thing to share with one’s children.

What a neat idea for a book! Reminds me a little of that series a while back (I think in the Times?) that showed everything people around the world purchased for food in a week. Amazing (and humbling) disparities.

I’ll have to look up that series–sounds fascinating. Humbling is a good word.

Mixed emotions of whether each of us from the first-world should be worrying MORE or LESS, before going to bed!?
