Jonathan Junior

by Ashley on March 28, 2011

We’ve been spending hours and hours imagining how to fill the wall behind our dining room table with some new art—in part to bring more color into our studio, in part to replace a giant mirror which will (soon enough) become a giant hazard to a crawling baby. We’re crossing our fingers that ours is slow on that curve (just kidding), but we went trolling around SoHo this weekend just in case.

I’d never realized that Jonathan Adler has a kids’ line! There are all sorts of cute (albeit pricey) accents like giraffe sconces and elephant piggy banks. He even has a miniature version of our sofa! I love the anchor rug for a child’s room: it would look great as a wall-hanging in a small space and then, one day, on the floor as it was intended.

You can customize all of Adler’s rugs as they’re woven to order.

I love that giraffe design by JA – such cute pieces for kids. I’ve heard rumours he will be opening a UK store sometime soon in London…so hope it’s true!

P.S. Lovely new site.

Love your new site, Ashley! Jonathan Adler is a whole lot of happy, especially the kids’ stuff. I don’t know how often they do it (maybe once a year?), but last summer they had a warehouse sale in Brooklyn with loads of stuff at bargain prices. We ended up going back twice in the same weekend because we decided we couldn’t pass up a few things. It’s worth it to be on their mailing list. Hope all is well!

I like the theme of elephants and giraffes. I don’t have a doubt that you will lose followers, (from your other blog). good luck on this new blog and you will be one busy Mommy. It is said that when you have a baby, creativity thrives, so I’m sure you will have lots to share with us!

Elisa March 28, 2011 at 2:35 pm

did I say that right? I meant to say that you won’t lose followers because of your new blog. sorry I didn’t know how to edit my comment…LOL

Congratulations, Rebecca! Elisa–you’re sweet! I understand what you mean. Thanks, everyone–I really appreciate it!

I’ll definitely have to be on a lookout for sales; thanks for the mailing list tip!
